Property Search Update

We went and looked at another piece of property yesterday.

It wasn’t a swamp!

It had a nice flat bit at the front ideal for house/veggie garden/orchard, a wooded bit in the middle, and behind that, what looked like an ideal goat field. I can definitely see us on this piece of land.

The  only thing is that in the middle of  the grassy bit is a huge power pole. It’s not too surprising, really. Land around here is expensive, so if it’s in our price range, it’s bound to have some kind of obvious flaw. The trick is to find a flaw we can work around. Giant swamp? No. Giant power pole? Maybe.

Our realtor’s checking into the implications of it. He says it looks to him like it’s an easement, which makes sense to me. I kind of had a feeling I shouldn’t plant my veggie garden in a circle around it!

So we are waiting to hear back about that. I’m feeling hopeful about it. If the pole ends up not being a big deal, we may have found our future home.
